Quality Meets Function
I started looking for a new carryon suitcase a few months ago and was not satisfied with the traditional (or legacy) product offerings from the likes of Samsonite or Delsey and couldn't afford TUMI or Rimowa. Then I came across several brands where were extremely popular on Instagram. I did my research and narrowed down to 2 brands, with Monos being one of them.
Prior to making an order, I texted Monos customer service and they were super duper helpful. I mentioned I was on the fence between them vs. AWAY and they shared with me some photos and videos of where their products differs from AWAY.
After I received my order, I was really impressed with the quality of the Monos Carryon from the matte finishing on the outer shell, down to the compression pad and lining inside the bag. I found the extra zip pockets inside good for knickknacks and other loose items. In terms of the details and finish, Monos does take the lead over AWAY. In terms of packing and capability, both brands are very similar.
I took the carryon on my first trip and the bag performed wonderfully. The wheels were gliding through all types of terrain and didn't have any issues. One of the biggest differentiator for Monos is the telescopic handles have multiple height adjustment capability. This was helpful whilst maneuvering through different terrains (the amount of force I needed to push the bag, yet still being comfortable).
Overall, I have very good things to say about the carryon bag and…
