Great water bottle with a few frustrations
I absolutely love Monos products and I've been using the Kiyo water bottle for a few weeks now. Overall I think it is a good v1 of the product — with some quirks and minor issues.
First off, it's beautiful. I love the calm, natural feel of the bottle's color and textured finish. It looks and feels solid. The bottom has a silicone pad on it so it is kind to any surface you set it down on and does not make the loud/obnoxious sounds many metal water bottles make. The rubber loop to hold on to — at least on mine — mostly matches the color of the bottle and is functional. The finish of the loop is a little rough compared to the rest of the bottle, but it's only noticeable on inspection.
A couple of things to note:
1) The cap protrudes quite a way into the bottle, so you need to be careful to not fill it too full with water. I've occasionally filled it too full, resulting in water overflowing and going everywhere when you put the cap on. You need to get used to not filling it up as high as you would with other bottles.
2) The aforementioned finish on the rubber loop.
3) The swipe area on the top of the cap is *really* sensitive. I find it's almost too easy to activate, resulting in multiple minute-long cycles of purification starting — even when not desired. This happens a lot when I'm trying to screw off the cap to drink, which is very frustrating to start another cycle when I often just completed one. This is not a big deal, except...
4) The auto-shutoff for when the cap is…
