Ultraviolet C (UVC) light has a very short wavelength and very high energy. Wavelengths between 200–300 nm are considered germicidal, as they are strongly absorbed by nucleic acids.
UVC light is proven to be highly effective in killing bacteria and other pathogens, by scrambling their DNA or RNA (their genetic code). Once their genetic code is broken, they can no longer function.

only issue is the lack of an auto-off function when the wand is turned upward - some other wands have this protective feature so that you don't accidentally shine the laser upward into your eyes or face. otherwise, it's a wonderful nearly perfect wand - good grip length on the handle, good weight distribution (not too heavy at the distal end), quiet when operating, and sleek aesthetics.
I bought another UVC sanitizer from Oak and Hearth. In comparison the price was about equivalent but the Monos one seems much better made. It takes a usb c charge which is great. There are two buttons one safety on side and the top button to turn on. I don't think it turns off automatically when facing up. Overall this seems well manufactured and more durable than the other wand. I wish it was easier to verify these wands actually produce the right nm wavelength but don't have the time to try it on yeast and agar plates etc and don't have ready access to spectrometer...
This product looks very professional. I hope it works. If it works the way it claims, covid-19 can suck my butt. I bought 2 of these in order to disintegrate the virus. Would recommend out of all the products on the market.
