Pure water, fast

Kiyo purifies water in as little as 60 seconds, and neutralizes up to 99.99% of bacteria in Deep Clean mode.

Sustainable

One Kiyo can eliminate the need for 100 plastic bottles a year, making it good for the planet (and your wallet too).

Travel-ready

Portable and packable, Kiyo gives you easy access to purified water, no matter where your day takes you.

Pure water at your fingertips

Simply fill up your bottle with water from a potable source, screw on the cap, and swipe across the cap top to activate Kiyo’s UVC purification technology – swipe once for Quick Clean and twice for Deep Clean. Within minutes, you’ll have access to clean, pure drinking water.

Behind the design

Kiyo’s soft, understated silhouette takes inspiration from handmade artisan pottery, while its gentle curves and stone-like, speckled texture recall smooth pebbles from a riverbed – their edges softened over time by the flow of rushing water.

Likewise, our days flow in continuous motion, quietly shaping our life’s journey with each passing moment. Finding beauty in life’s transient nature is called mono no aware in Japanese, and we’ve inscribed these words at the bottom of each Kiyo as a reminder – for all of us – to slow down and savour the present.

Great water bottle with a few frustrations

I absolutely love Monos products and I've been using the Kiyo water bottle for a few weeks now. Overall I think it is a good v1 of the product — with some quirks and minor issues.

First off, it's beautiful. I love the calm, natural feel of the bottle's color and textured finish. It looks and feels solid. The bottom has a silicone pad on it so it is kind to any surface you set it down on and does not make the loud/obnoxious sounds many metal water bottles make. The rubber loop to hold on to — at least on mine — mostly matches the color of the bottle and is functional. The finish of the loop is a little rough compared to the rest of the bottle, but it's only noticeable on inspection.

A couple of things to note:

1) The cap protrudes quite a way into the bottle, so you need to be careful to not fill it too full with water. I've occasionally filled it too full, resulting in water overflowing and going everywhere when you put the cap on. You need to get used to not filling it up as high as you would with other bottles.

2) The aforementioned finish on the rubber loop.

3) The swipe area on the top of the cap is *really* sensitive. I find it's almost too easy to activate, resulting in multiple minute-long cycles of purification starting — even when not desired. This happens a lot when I'm trying to screw off the cap to drink, which is very frustrating to start another cycle when I often just completed one. This is not a big deal, except...

4) The auto-shutoff for when the cap is…

Overall, I’m pleased. A couple issues that could be improved in V2...

My Kiyo arrived today and there were a couple features I was very pleased and surprised by. They don't list these in the description, but they really should:

* The UVC light automatically turns off if the cap is not on the bottle. This is a great safety measure as UVC is actually harmful to look at and bad for human skin if exposed too long. I'm glad this feature is there!

* The bottom of the bottle is a silicone pad, so when you set it down on surfaces, it is both stable and *quiet.* No loud clang of a metal bottle being set on a countertop.

I gave this only 4 starts for one annoying thing and one minor (but still noticeable gripe):

Annoying thing: the cap is super sensitive. I can touch anywhere on or around the icon and the blue light turns on. This means when I’m just simply taking off the cap to drink, the light turns on. Luckily, it does have that auto turn off feature so it doesn’t stay on long, but I worry this will just use up battery faster.

One minor gripe: the carry handle is nice but is not as pictured - I have the Salt color and the silicone loop is the right shape, but the blue doesn't match the bottle color and it just seems unfinished - you can see the moulding seams and they are a bit ragged, like they didn't take the time to clean up the loop after the moulding process. Given how sleek the rest of the bottle looks, the cheap look of the loop really stands out. One might believe the loop was a cheap third party amazon buy, rather than something that came…

Monos

Hi Mel! Thank you for taking the time for your in-depth review. In regards to the loop. That is odd as the finish should not be like that with the edges. We are happy to send you a completely new one as a replacement and will take this to our QC team! Please email us help@monos.com and we will get one to you right away.

nice product!

Neat little products. Took me a while to figure out how it actually works. So let me give you a heads-up. Touch it and it will turn blue for 1min purify. Then: You have to tap it 2x for 3mins purify in green light.

Again Touch it to turn it on. It will turn blue then Tap 2x times for a deep purify.
